
After yesterdays ride the FT power reading was pushed up a bit, although with finishing at the 45min mark the average was knocked back a bit from where it should have been. Should have chose a longer run and measured a true average. The FT on the chart is around 4.35W/kg and should be closer to 4.6W/kg, which in theory puts me in good stead for a time trial but not for criteriums. My sprint 5s and 1min still need working on to bring them up to CAT2 level, which will require around 1350W for the 5sec (up about 250W) and 675W for the 1min mark (up 75W) with a weight loss down to a race weight of 73kg. The sprint wattage will be the most difficult to get, although I will have to try it with a decent set of wheels on as the Askiums I use for training flex too much, rub against the brake blocks and feel like jelly at times. May be tempted to do Crystal palace on Tuesday, although I would have to either ride in tomorrow or take my bike in a bag on the train and ride to the circuit. Would be interesting to see the power profile for a crystal palace race. Tonight will probably be 30 min on the rollers as a prep for either riding in tomorrow or a recovery for Tuesday night.
